We are Dr. Swati and Dr. Akshara, two friends, dentists by profession, yet deeply rooted in the traditions and healing treasures of our Himalayas.
Growing up, we watched our grandmothers lovingly gather vibrant Buransh flowers, transforming them into refreshing drinks and age-old remedies that healed everything from a tired soul to a weary body. In the cold, quiet mountains of Uttarakhand, where snow touches the trees and the wind carries old songs, a red flower blooms every year. It’s called Buransh — the soul of the Himalayas. Our dadi-nani and maa knew its power. They didn’t need doctors or fancy medicines. When someone had fever, felt weak, or was tired from walking long distances, they would say — “Buransh pila do.”
It was their way of healing. Not just the body, but the heart too. Villagers would climb steep hills, pick the bright red petals with love, and boil them at home. The juice was given to everyone — children, elders, guests, even the tired farmer returning after a hard day. It tasted like the mountains… pure, strong, and full of care. But slowly, people forgot.
